Mission Statement
The mission of the Oconto County Economic Development Corporation Inc. (OCEDC) is to stimulate development of the local economy, provide support to existing and prospective employers, serve as a professional resource to local units of government and promote tourism opportunities within Oconto County Wisconsin.

OCEDC responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Revolving Loan Fund Management:
- Oconto County Business Development Revolving Loan Fund
- Tri-County Business Development Revolving Loan Fund
- Retention of Existing Employers:
- Industrial visitation program
- County Board of Supervisors Annual Industrial Tour
- Industrial / Commercial Recruitment:
- Development of promotional materials, internet site
- Coordinate cooperative marketing fund placements
- Community Development Zone (CDZ):
- Coordinate Oconto County portion of two-county CDZ
- NEWREP Technology Zone:
- Oconto County representative, assisted in application for zone status, served as organizational chair.
- Tax Increment Finance Districts:
- Assisted in implementation of six TIF development plans.
- Assisted creation of Village of Suring TIF District
- Workforce Development:
- Past board member NEW Private Industry Council
- Led coordination of Rural Northeast Wisconsin house project with CESA 8, NWTC and local school districts.
- County Wide Tourism:
- Development of Oconto County Discovery Guide.
- Creation and staffing of Oconto County Tourism Council
- Creation and maintenance of tourism portion of web site
Since 1985 OCEDC has had a lead role or has had primary responsibility for programs or projects that total over $300 million in industrial and community development in Oconto County that has impacted or created over 2,500 jobs.
